Meet Jamie

As a licensed certified social worker at the clinical level, Jamie frequently works with adults who are experiencing chronic stress responses, life transitions, difficulty with parenting, intimate partner violence, and/or childhood abuse. Jamie has a passion for working with individuals in high stress work environments including: teachers, nurses, federal and local law enforcement and military members. She believes that we can grow through the work of creating compassion for ourselves, just as we do for our loved ones.

In line with a humanistic perspective, Jamie believes that meeting you where are at is a foundational aspect of therapy. Through utilizing a person centered approach, she applies a range of interventions, including somatic and narrative approaches. Where appropriate, Jamie is trained to utilize CBT and DBT skills.

Jamie completed her undergraduate studies at University of Maryland, College Park with a major in Sociology and a concentration in Inequality and Stratification. She completed her Master’s of Social Work Degree at Widener University in Chester, PA, which focused on the clinical treatment of trauma related disorders. Though becoming a therapist has always been Jamie’s dream, she also enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as traveling. You may see her at the playground with her two boys, in the city or on a hike!
